The study were conducted from September-2002 to May-2003 at Tu Du hospital with 219 infertility patients to show the validity of hysterosalpinggography (HSG) for the diagnosis of tubal occlusion by assessment directly tubal patent degree by laparoscopy. The results showed that HSG is valuable for the diagnosis of proximal tubal occlusion with the specificity of 72,24% and the negative predictive value of 96.4%. HSG is also considered as a screening test for the diagnosis of distal tubal occlusion with the sensitivity of 88.55% and the positive predictive value is 76.66%.
