The study determined the expression of the biological marker PCNA in invasive breast carcinoma, found out the correlation of thi marker with the basic prognostic factors such as: age of patients, histopathologic features, histologic grade, lymph node metastasic status. Among 371 specimens of invasive breast carcinoma which were stained with immunohistochemical technique, there have been 96.2% specimens have had the overexpression of PCNA in the cancer cells. However, there have had no relation between the overexpression of PCNA and the basic prognostic factors, threfore, it is not necessary to find out the expression of PCNA in all cases of invasive breast carcinoma.
